An Experiment In Scotch

I write to discover what I believe

Zach Johnson, the 2007 Masters champion.

If you don’t see the correlation, Peter, don’t ask the stupid fucking question.

Something is seriously wrong with Tiger, after that eagle is usually the time he starts to destroy the competition.  I felt like when he made that putt, it was just like when he chipped in on poor DiMarco in 2005.  Instead, he drops it in the water on 15.  Of course, he’s in the position of having to go for it because he’s 3 back.  Those four bogeys on 17 and 18 in the first and second round are surely haunting him now.

Appleby doesn’t even look like he’s trying.  He putts like I do, just hoping, praying, begging for the ball to get close so that he can’t three putt.  It’s sad but he doesn’t seem to have the heart of a champion.

Of course as soon as I say that, God, Augusta and Earl show me why Tiger wins the Masters every other year.  No other players ball would have rolled down that hill.

And Zach opens up a two shot lead with not many people behind him to fear.  Sure, Tiger can still get something done but he just doesn’t look like this is going to be his day.

And then there were 5.  Goodbye, Mr. Sabbatini.

And then there were 6.  Goodbye, Mr. Appleby.

So I guess now Finchy thinks Sabbatini is the man to beat?  Does anyone think Rory is really going to win this?   Not with drives like that one on 14.

Someone needs to tell Faldo to give Liberace his tie back. . .
